Review - Newcastle - Preview Tottenham
Source - ESPNFC
It was an emphatic performance. United played Newcastle our of the game and it was great to see Van Gaals finally coming together with Rooney, Falcao and RVP both in the starting lineup for the second game in a row. Rooney scored two in the first half and RVP headed in the brace to make it 3-0. Thanks to lazy tackle by Phil Jones Newcastle got a late penalty, tarnishing the clean sheet De Gea had in the bag.
Rooney was once again the most outstanding player for United with his box to box play and his two goals as well as the cross that found RVP for the 3rd goal. Falcao and RVP finally seemed to gel together as the two centre forwards. I can't wait to see them up front on a regular basis. Ashley Young and Valencia have been reelations in recent games and there play down the wings has definitely been helped United extend the unbeaten streak to 8 games. Young was particularly good against Nwcastle and they found it hard to contain his movement or his service into the box.
Here are the highlights:
Tottenham - Away
United will be without Angel di Maria (Pelvis) Marouane Fellaini (illness), Adnan Januzaj (illness), Daley Blind (knee), Marcos Rojo (thigh), Ander Herrera (muscle injury).
Tottenham will have Ryan Mason and Hugo Lloris will be available according to reports.
United's away form has not been amazing this season but now is a good time as any to improve it and keep the unbeaten run going. Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen will be the Tottenham players United has to be vary of. Although United won comprehensively yesterday, the service to the box can definitely be improved, with more passes through the middle for the RVP and Falcao to exploit.
Both teams are on a good run, but once again United's quality will prove to be the difference between the two. 2-0 United.
